What a Day!!

Well, maternity leave is officially over.  Back to the grind.  The bills don't pay themselves, right?  :)

The alarm went off this morning at 5:30...and by alarm I mean Kamden.  My REAL alarm was set for 5:45.  Berkley was up around 4:15 to eat and I sat there wondering if this was it for me for the day.  So I'm thankful for another hour + after that.

I showered, dressed, got ready, pumped, got Kamden dressed and ready, got Berkley dressed and ready.  Daddy helped get us all put together.  I got Kamden's breakfast, Berkley's bottles and we were ready to head out the door by 7:15.  I took - and this is not an exaggeration - my purse, my pump, my thermos for milk, my water bottle, Berkley's bag, Kamden's backpack, 2 containers of cookies (cuz, you know of course it's my treat day THE DAY I come back!), and the kids.  Somehow we made it to school and I got them all unloaded and settled and I made it to work by 8am.

As I sat in our weekly Monday Morning Meeting I thought to myself "I'm ready for a nap!"

So I made it through the day.  Daycare called halfway through and said Berkley was doing great.  I needed a Doctor's Note to allow her to sleep in a swing because of her reflux.  Made me laugh.  But whatever.  So I called the doctor and  had them fax a note over for me.  Like I'm 12 and can't give my OWN child permission to sleep in a swing.  Again, whatever.  The girls are great and take good care of her so I'll abide by their silly rules :)

I got the kids picked up and made it home.  Lane was making fish for supper.  We ate, cleaned up, I put in a load of laundry, picked up Kamden's bedroom a little, came down to hang out for a bit, gave Berkley a bath (with Kamden's help, of course!), Lane gave Kamden a bath, I washed bottles, snuggled with Kamden during snack time, gave Berkley her bottle, Lane took Kam to bed, then Berkley went up.  I made bottles for tomorrow, pumped, fast forwarded through the majority of Dancing with the Stars.  Update the blog so that I remember this day forever - and now, off to bed I go!!!

Whew.....I  need a drink, or a vacation??  Is it fair to have 3 months off work and then need a vacation after 1 day??  Probably not.  I'm guessing by Thursday I'm going to be tired.  And possibly a bit testy.

I decided this evening that I'm a bit like Superwoman.  Or maybe Wonderwoman.

Oh....how I remember those days! But already at 7 and 4 our kids are easier! We are still busy but just a different kind of busy with homework and activities.

Yes, Rachel - you can definately call yourself Wonder Women. You deserve it :)

Have a SUPER week!

Now, can you imagine finding out in a few months that you're going to have ANOTHER one! That was us with Axl (oops!). Hang in there, it takes several months to adjust, but one day it does get better! And then there are good days and bad days! :)
